Abstract The aim is to derive an expression calculate the natural frequencies and plot mode shapes of a simply-supported beam with overhang end point mass by using Euler-Bernoulli theory in case free transverse vibrations. results are validated finite element analysis. importance system presented that it can represent machine tool spindles or even machining tools like boring bars. good agreement from analyses. derived be used optimizing value support location for better performance without need perform complex analysis obtain values shapes.
